The program now partners with the St. Lucie County School Board and area private schools to track and monitor school absentee rates. This unique system provides for rapid recognition and response to disease outbreaks.
The program expanded its rapid outbreak detection and surveillance capabilities by monitoring daily sales of over-the-counter medications purchased in St. Lucie County, using Real-Time Outbreak Detection System (RODS).
Another program enhancement includes participation in the Integrated Active Surveillance Program (IASP), which streamlines existing disease detection systems and actively partners with the community to accomplish rapid disease detection and reporting. |
