TIPPS Mission:
To promote teen health and well being by:
  • Educating on teen pregnancy prevention, risk reduction, and postponement of
    sexual involvement
  • Providing access to all necessary services to teens and their families
  • Promoting healthy choices by fostering community building, the development of role models, and consistent communication
Description
TIPPS is a coalition of Treasure Coast agencies dedicated to improving the lives of teenagers and their families. TIPPS is coordinated by Donna Harris and funded by the St. Lucie County Health Department.

What Does TIPPS Do?
  • Hosts Coalition meetings
    TIPPS holds two networking meetings a year
  • Conducts local research
    Teen Pregnancy Findings report (research with local teens)
  • Provides support for TIPPS member agencies by
    • Participating in community coalitions and committees
    • Supplying research and support letters for grant writing
    • Circulating event announcements
    • Maintaining and distributing a directory of TIPPS members
    • Updating members on local issues concerning teen health
  • Educates the community by
    • Offering parent education workshops
    • Providing relevant local, state, and national research to TIPPS members, the school board, and other community groups
    • Writing letters of support or concern to local officials on issues affecting teens in our community
